Jackson Sargeant has lived in over a dozen different places, both internationally and in the US. He attends Appalachian State University, where he studies Furniture Design under the Industrial Design program. He is a member of ISFD and a Pinnacle Awards finalist, and has entered competitions with his work, as well as exhibiting at a gallery in Boone, North Carolina. He is currently focusing on his academic career, continuing to refine his design capabilities. He practices everything from fabrication to CADD. Post graduation, he looks forward to entering the furniture industry, and contributing to the discipline.
Design Focus
I believe that design is inherently about telling stories. A well designed piece not only communicates its purpose, but connects the user to the design. I encapsulate this in my designs by taking inspiration from universal features. I draw upon the the idea of the night sky, something that has connected all through story and vision. The stars unite us all across the world. No matter where you are on Earth, or even the universe, there are always stars.
